Online Course Selection Procedures

Student Course Selection Instructions:

  1. Go to the following website and choose Student Connect.
  1. To log in to Student Connect, you will need:
    • User name – your 5 or 6 digit Burnsview student number.
    • Password – If you have not signed in previously, you will need to contact the Burnsview office to receive your password. (Current Grade 7 students will need to contact the elementary school for logon information.)
  1. Select the PickCrse tab at the top of the page to access the Course Selection Form.
    • View the online Course Handbook (Program Guide) by clicking on the tab at the top of the page.
    • Pick the specified number of required, elective and alternate courses by clicking in the columns of boxes on the right side of the screen.
    • All students must select a total of 8 courses and 2 alternate courses for a total of 10. Alternate courses will switch with elective courses in the event that you have a schedule conflict or a course is cancelled due to low enrollment. (If you are selecting Theatre Company you should have 9 courses and 2 alternate courses for a total of 11.)
    • Your # of requests column should match the max column on the top right hand side of the form. When you have made your final selections, click SAVE.
    • Once final selections have been made, your course requests may be printed for your records.
  1. If you have questions about a course or the selection process, phone, email or make an appointment to see your counselor (604-594-0491).

Parent Course Selection Instructions:

  1. Go to the following website and choose Parent Connect.
  1. To log in to Parent Connect, you will need:
    • Your email address OR your child’s 9 digit PEN number and postal code.
    • Password – If you have not signed in previously, you will need to contact the Burnsview office to receive your password. If you have forgotten your password, click on Forgot my Password. (Parents of current Grade 7 students will need to contact the elementary school for logon information).
  1. Click on the PickCrse tab at the top of the page to access the Course Selection Form.
    • The online Course Handbook (Program Guide) may be viewed by clicking on the View Course Handbook tab at the top of the page.
    • When you have reviewed your child’s course selections, check the completed box and then click the SAVE button.
    • No further changes may be made online once you have completed this step.
  1. If you have questions about a course or the selection process, phone, email or make an appointment to see your child`s counselor (604-594-0491).
